The first step to getting involved - attending,
as a visitor, for 2 days of a 5 day event. This
course was at a hotel in Windermere. It was an
exceptionally wet week, the lake flooded completely,
and began to approach the village. One bus and
a landrover were lost in the attempted outdoors
event - causing it to be cancelled - a first in
the history of the programme.
Meeting the tutors was a really positive experience;
I learnt a lot in the short time I was there,
and this really fired my enthusiasm for working
on the grad programme.
Tutoring on grad is quite different - and complementary
- to the kinds of skills I have practiced lecturing,
tutoring, supervising and running laboratories
at the university.
